Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP), a not-for-profit public health plan based in Southern California, has selected Dell to help expand its claims processing capacity as it prepares for unprecedented membership growth.
IEHP serves more than 620,000 residents of San Bernardino and Riverside counties who are enrolled in Medi-Cal, Healthy Kids and a Medicare Special Needs Plan. As a result of federal healthcare reform and potential participation in the California Coordinated Care Initiative, IEHP is projected to grow to 900,000 members by 2016.
Under a managed-services agreement, Dell will help IEHP build additional claims processing capacity to offset increasing claims inventory levels and establish processing resources and expertise for future growth. To improve the quality and accuracy of claims processing, Dell will implement a comprehensive quality assurance and audit program, as well as establish continuous performance improvement targets using Six Sigma strategies and operational metrics.
