ThingWorx™ today announced a strategic alliance with CSC, a global leader in providing technology enabled business solutions and services. This multifaceted agreement allows the ThingWorx software platform to be embedded into CSC’s OmniLocation ® MachinEdge enterprise M2M solutions offering; enables cross licensing of CSC’s OmniLocation technology to ThingWorx; and provides CSC with the necessary M2M application platform infrastructure to develop and deploy M2M solutions for its customers worldwide. This broad alliance will result in significant time to market savings for end customers and will spur new innovations in the M2M location-based services market.
The knowledge and experience embodied in CSC’s consulting, industry domain expertise, and Machine-to-Machine Center of Excellence (“M2M CoE”), along with the power of the ThingWorx platform, will dramatically reduce the cost and risk for customers in every stage of M2M maturity. In addition, this strategic alliance allows M2M solutions to be delivered that uniquely address the new area of M2M requirements that encompass social, mobile, search, and collaboration—features that are core to the ThingWorx platform and essential for market differentiation in this increasingly connected world.
“After an extensive evaluation, we concluded that ThingWorx provides a unique application enablement platform for building M2M and Internet of Things solutions, and one that is complimentary to the direction of our M2M strategy and is a perfect fit for our OmniLocation enterprise visibility technology,” stated Richard Tomredle, M2M CoE Chief Technologist. “The MachinEdge solution will enable the delivery of innovative applications that are much richer in functionality, in a fraction of the time required with alternative approaches.”
“We are pleased to enter into a strategic alliance with CSC,” stated Russ Fadel, CEO of ThingWorx. “CSC’s global reach and M2M CoE, combined with the ThingWorx platform, will speed the adoption of innovative M2M applications in the manufacturing, energy, medical, and industrial equipment markets. The acceleration of M2M adoption is self-reinforcing, and will be a key catalyst for rapid growth in the emerging connected world. Businesses in every phase of M2M maturity will benefit from CSC’s end-to-end solution delivery capability. In addition, we see this alliance as further validation of ThingWorx’s technology, representing another milestone in the company’s history.”
