- Free workshop to provide insight on what it takes to race in the UAE
- Enthusiast drivers are invited to attend the fact finding workshop with no obligations to race
This Friday (
26 July 2013
) Dubai Autodrome, under the auspices of the DAMC, will host the first rookie workshop for drivers wanting to know more about how to step up into the UAE national racing scene, specifically the NGK Racing Series - the workshop takes place at the venue on Friday, 26 July from 16:00 to 18:00.
One of the most popular activities during the course of the year at the Autodrome are invariably Track Days and Track Evenings for car enthusiasts. These sessions offer participants an opportunity to drive their cars at high speeds on a race circuit, in near racing conditions with full marshal and emergency services in attendance - no compromise when it comes to safety.
Many drivers contesting the NGK Racing Series, including the popular Clio Cup, also use these track day sessions as testing and training for their racing exploits.
Inevitably keen enthusiasts will be exposed to the race drivers and if 'racing is in their blood' they will fancy having a go at it themselves. Doing hot laps, consistent laps and maximising what one gets out of one's own car is a challenge no doubt, but the itch to race often becomes a factor which individuals need to scratch.
On the same lines of the successful and popular Rookie Workshops for wannabe motorcycle racers, the DAMC (Dubai Autodrome Motorsport Club) have introduced a similar concept for drivers wanting to break into the sport at UAE national level.
