PrivacyStar recognizes consumers are harassed on their smartphones. Forbes estimates there are over 100 billion spam calls a year and consumers received roughly 4.5 billion spam texts last year, according to Ferris Research. Also, in 2012 text spam tripled compared with 2011 levels, according to the AARP.
