June 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
ADP® announced today it is co-sponsoring events convened by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as it kicks off National Small Business Week in Seattle. Today's event, held at the Microsoft
® campus in
Redmond, commemorates the week's 50
th anniversary by honoring the outstanding contributions of local entrepreneurs, small business owners and other industry leaders.
The event will feature free workshops and informational sessions on topics such as social media strategies, supply chain management, and protecting against cyber security threats to help small businesses thrive and grow. Attendees also will have the opportunity to participate in a free speed mentoring session to network and learn from experienced business mentors and subject matter experts.
"Small business owners face myriad challenges every day. Chief among them are those relating to how they manage their cash flow," said
Anish Rajparia, President of ADP's Small Business Services, which serves more than 425,000 small business clients. "This is particularly true in a recovering economy, where a strong balance sheet helps owners navigate a dynamic market. ADP salutes the achievements of small business owners and is honored to support National Small Business Week events in
Seattle and across the country," Rajparia added.
The SBA established National Small Business Week in 1963, and this year's celebration will mark the first time that it will feature events in five cities, including
St. Louis (
June 20) and
Washington, D.C. (
June 20-21). ADP subject matter experts will be on hand to help small business owners understand the implications of the Affordable Care Act as part of panel discussions in
St. Louis. The week will conclude in
Washington, D.C., where ADP will lead a special session on preparing for the Affordable Care Act and understanding its implications for small businesses.
