CCC announces the assignment of US Patent No. 8,360,744 for compressor-expander set critical speed avoidance. This makes the 41
patent in CCC’s global patent portfolio. The patent defines the CCC technology for “A control method and apparatus for critical rotational speed avoidance in a compressor expander set in a gas refrigeration system.” The technology ensures the ultimate protection of the machinery while preserving the highest level of process continuation. This technology has been applied to LNG applications as well as Gas Plants and other critical applications where the compressor-expander machine is core to the process, providing improved reliability during process upsets and optimizing machine protection.
