Republic Airways Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: RJET) today announced that it has reached a tentative agreement (TA) on a new five-year contract with the Transportation Workers Union (TWU) Local 540 Dispatchers. Local 540 represents the nearly 90 dispatchers of Chautauqua Airlines, Republic Airlines and Shuttle America.
The proposed contract includes increases in pay and work rule improvements. The TA still must be presented to union members for review and a ratification vote, which is expected to be held in July.
“We are pleased to have reached an agreement that recognizes the many contributions of our Flight Dispatchers. It provides the economics that allow the Company to remain competitive in recruiting outstanding employees as we grow our airline and maintains our competitive position as we pursue additional business opportunities,” said Republic Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Wayne Heller.
“This TA reflects the hard work and cooperation of our local negotiating committees and of the TWU national organization," said Heller. “We thank the TWU for their diligent pursuit of obtaining an agreement in support of their membership and our airlines.”
