CLEVELAND, June 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Applied Industrial Technologies (NYSE: AIT) has received two supplier awards from Eastman Chemical Company as part of their Eastman Supplier Excellence Program (ESEP) for 2012. These Excellence and Innovation awards signify that Applied is one of the company's most valued suppliers based on consistent performance in furnishing Eastman with high quality materials and services, while also working on their behalf to improve efficiency and further facilitate their competitiveness in the marketplace. Selection for the awards is based on contributions in the areas of on-time shipping performance, meeting Eastman's quality expectations, and providing innovative solutions to unique opportunities.

"Less than six-tenths of one percent of Eastman's suppliers were nominated for an ESEP award, and Applied is one of only two suppliers to win two ESEP awards for 2012," explains Debbie Davis Waltermire, Director, Global Indirect Procurement & Supply Chain for Eastman. "In fact, Applied has won more ESEP awards in the last three years than any other supplier," added Jason Bunton, Global Sourcing Manager for Eastman.

"We are honored to be recognized by Eastman for these prestigious awards three years in a row, and we are proud to be a preferred supplier," says Tom Armold, Vice President – Marketing and Strategic Accounts, Applied Industrial Technologies. "We have a successful partnership with Eastman because they allow us to utilize our years of experience, expertise, and exceptional ability to improve their operations."
