University of Texas
MD Anderson Cancer Center for a new Pyxis
ES platform for medication dispensing technology.
Terms of the contract include MD Anderson Cancer Center to implement the Pyxis
Enterprise Server, Pyxis MedStation
ES system and the Pyxis
Anesthesia ES system for its 600-bed hospital and outpatient centers.

The new CareFusion Pyxis
ES platform is a combination of hardware and software that can significantly reduce time for nursing and pharmacy to dispense and administer medications because of simpler, more efficient workflows. The new system also eliminates the need for redundant workflows through direct synchronization with pharmacy formulary, as well as hospital and patient identity management systems. The system enables pharmacy and nursing managers to maintain consistent medication management practices and policies across multiple hospitals and clinics, which can help improve medication safety.
