AMR Corporation And US Airways Announce Board Of Directors For The New American Airlines

The selection process for the Board of Directors of the new American Airlines was established pursuant to the Merger Agreement.  In addition to the continuing directors selected by each of the two companies, an eight-member search committee designated by representatives of the Creditors' Committee and the Ad Hoc Committee of AMR Creditors, among other things, selected five new directors (including the new lead independent director).  The firm Heidrick & Struggles was retained to assist with the process.  The decisions of the search committee were approved on a consensual basis by all eight search committee members.
