ROCKVILLE, Md., May 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Neuralstem, Inc. (NYSE MKT: CUR) today reported that Eva Feldman, MD, PhD, principal investigator, will present updated Phase I data from the trial using NSI-566 spinal cord-derived human neural stem cells in the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease) at the Romanian Neurological Society Congress held in Bucharest, Romania, on May 17 th. In a talk called "Recent Therapeutic Advances in Stem Cell Therapy," Dr. Feldman will present results from the Phase I trial from all 15 patients. The trial recently received FDA approval to advance to Phase II.
Dr. Feldman is Director of the A. Alfred Taubman Medical Research Institute and Director of Research of the ALS Clinic at the University of Michigan Health System and an unpaid consultant to Neuralstem.
