BOSTON, May 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- John Hancock Funds today announced the launch of iDiversify, a straightforward and easy to use app designed to help financial advisors talk to investors about diversification. The app lets users explore performance of more than 23 equity, fixed-income, and alternative asset classes – and shows how a diversified portfolio would have performed over the same time period.

"Advisors are looking for more compelling ways to engage clients on key topics like diversification," said Karen McCafferty, Senior Vice President and head of marketing, John Hancock Funds.  "iDiversify shows at a glance how different asset classes have performed in different market environments, including the benefits of incorporating alternatives.  The app makes it much easier for advisors to explore and visualize the concept of diversification with their clients."

The app is available at www.jhfunds.com/idiversify, and on iTunes for the iPad. Search the App Store for "iDiversify" to download free of charge.

John Hancock Funds is launching a multi-media campaign beginning May 1 to raise awareness among advisors.

The iDiversify app was recently honored with an Internet Advertising Competition (IAC) award, for Best Financial Services Interactive application, from the Web Marketing Association. The Internet Advertising Competition (IAC) Awards honor excellence in online advertising, recognize the individuals and organizations responsible, and showcase the best in award-winning Internet advertising.
