Barson will focus on bolstering operations of the recruitment sector in Houston, as well as set the sales direction for the other Hearst Texas papers, including the San Antonio Express-News. He will also manage Hearst's recruitment advertising partnerships, including Monster.com.

"Mario will be a great addition to our talented leadership team in Houston," Cravaritis said.  "He is joining our organization at a perfect time, with lower unemployment rates and more companies relocating to Houston seeking competitive human capital solutions.  Mario's talents will make a forceful impact to our business."

" Houston's ever-growing job market has created unprecedented opportunities not only for companies hiring but also for job seekers," said Barson.  "Hearst's media portfolio includes a breadth of resources, and is uniquely poised to bring these groups together. I am excited to lead this forward-thinking division of our business."

Barson joins Hearst from CareerBuilder.com where he served as an Area Sales Manager.  With eight years of experience in sales leadership and business development, Barson specializes in harnessing maximum marketing potential by implementing unique cross-platform marketing solutions that include print, mobile, broadcast and interactive media.  Barson is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Media.
