NEW YORK, April 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Shutterstock, Inc. (NYSE: SSTK), a leading global provider of high-quality stock photos, vectors, illustrations and video clips today announced translations into four new languages including Danish Finnish Norwegian and  Swedish . "Shutterstock has thousands of customers in Scandinavia, and adding these languages will increase accessibility, provide a better user experience, and more effective search for image buyers across the region," said Founder and CEO Jon Oringer. "We continue to deepen our penetration within key international markets, and language support is one of the ways Shutterstock is becoming more local," added Oringer.

"Scandinavia is home to some of the most influential design, technology and media centers in the world, and having access to beautiful, licensable imagery is a critical piece of visual storytelling," said Vice President of International, Gerd Mittmann. "Shutterstock has 25 million photos, vectors and illustrations that have been vetted and approved for commercial or editorial use. This is a tremendous resource for app developers, marketers, publishers and designers, and now they can search in Swedish, Finnish, Danish and Norwegian and find exactly what they need to bring their messages to life," Mittmann continued.

In celebration of this announcement, Shutterstock has curated lightboxes with beautiful images from, and inspired by, Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden.

Shutterstock, which has more than 750,000 customers in 150 countries, and 40,000 contributing artists, recently surpassed 300 million image licenses sold and $150 million paid to contributors worldwide. The company also began previewing Offset, a new brand featuring a high-end collection of extraordinary licensable images.
