SAN DIEGO, April 16, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:KTOS), a leading National Security Solutions provider, announced today that its dedicated business group of cybersecurity experts, Kratos SecureInfo, worked as the independent assessor to assist a large-scale Cloud Service Provider (CSP) in securing its FedRAMP Authority to Operate (ATO). By serving as the Third Party Assessment Organization (3PAO), Kratos SecureInfo successfully helped this large CSP substantiate that it met FedRAMP's cybersecurity and information assurance requirements, a necessary prerequisite to deliver secure cloud services to federal government agencies. More information about Authorized CSPs and the 3PAO relationship is available at:
The Federal Risk Authorization and Management Program (FedRAMP) supports the U.S. Government's objective to enable the secure and cost effective use of solutions provided by commercial CSPs. As an accredited 3PAO, Kratos SecureInfo independently validated the FedRAMP mandated security controls implemented by the large-scale CSP.
After a rigorous review of 3PAO providers, Kratos SecureInfo was chosen by the cloud provider based upon its extensive experience securing cloud environments for commercial and government organizations. Kratos SecureInfo has successfully assessed hundreds of government systems and works with industry leading commercial CSPs, including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, Dell and many more.
"We are proud to have helped this leading, global cloud service provider move through the FedRAMP process efficiently and successfully," said Christopher Fountain, Sr. Vice President of the Kratos SecureInfo business group. "It further demonstrates Kratos' leadership in applying federal information security frameworks to large-scale cloud computing solutions."
