It's also plausible that a considerable number of people have respect for Ackman. They watch him on television. They read the press clippings on JCP. And they're like, Hell, if this dude believes in the story, why shouldn't I?
As a public, we really should start questioning the obvious. As a media, it wouldn't be a bad idea to give cats like Ackman maybe just a little less airtime. It's not like we can have much faith in what they're saying at any given time anyhow.
