WASHINGTON, April 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Furthering ongoing efforts to optimize Citi's retail banking network, Chief Executive Officer Michael Corbat and U.S. Consumer and Commercial Banking President Cece Stewart today celebrated the opening of a new Citibank branch in Washington, D.C.

Located at the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and K Street, the new Citibank branch resides in the heart of D.C.'s "Golden Triangle" business district, providing customers superior products, services, and access to help reduce the complexities of their financial lives.

"Citi connects the world through its unparalleled global presence, which of course includes our nation's capital," said Mr. Corbat.  "We leverage innovations created throughout our network so that every time we open a branch – whether it is on the corner of Connecticut and K or in Shanghai – we deliver proven customer service and solutions. Our newest D.C. branch is state-of-the art and a great example of our commitment to improving the client experience in the communities we serve."

The new Washington, D.C. Citibank branch is outfitted with features such as digital media walls, a Citibank Online computer terminal and enhanced-image, envelope-free ATMs.  Also reinforcing Citibank's commitment to the environment, the branch is LEED-certified.

"This branch demonstrates our commitment to providing customers with cutting-edge access and exceptional service," said Ms. Stewart.  "We are happy to grow in Washington, D.C. – the home of our second U.S. flagship branch at Foggy Bottom – and simplify the financial lives of our customers."

The branch will serve retail, small business, commercial banking, and personal wealth management customers with account opening and teller services.  The new location will provide mortgage and credit card services. Reflecting Citibank's global reach and D.C.'s multilingual population, branch employees can assist customers in English, Spanish, and French.
