/PRNewswire/ -- Jeff Brogan, a television executive dedicated to local news strategy, has been appointed vice president and general manager of WCPO, the ABC affiliate in
that has been owned and operated by The E.W. Scripps Company (NYSE: SSP) since 1949.
Brogan, 36, began his television news career in his hometown of
at WXIX. He moved to Scripps-owned WCPO in 2000 as a newscast producer. He was promoted to executive producer in 2004 and became WCPO's assistant news director in 2008.
Brogan was promoted to news director of Scripps-owned WPTV in
West Palm Beach, Fla.
, in 2010, overseeing the news operations of
's highest-rated TV station. In 2012, Scripps moved Brogan into a corporate role that oversees news strategy at several of its stations.
