Race with Insulin ®
crew. Now through

"It takes an entire crew to help me manage both my car and my diabetes, so we can compete at the highest levels," said Kimball. "This program is a great way for people to show support, especially for friends and family affected by diabetes, and encourage them to share my story."
Kimball is the first licensed driver with diabetes to race at the highest level of the series. Diagnosed with diabetes during a routine physician's visit in 2007 while racing in
, he strategized with his doctor and his team to create some innovative solutions for keeping him safe and healthy on the track. Along with diet, exercise and the support of his crew, Charlie uses NovoLog
(insulin aspart [rDNA origin] injection) and a continuous glucose monitor to help manage his blood sugar before and during races, so that while he's in the car, he can focus on driving.
