EarthRisk Technologies Releases TempRisk US Weeklies -- A Weekly Analysis Of TempRisk's Extended-Range Forecasts With Comparisons To The ECMWF

SAN DIEGO, April 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- EarthRisk Technologies, a pioneer in the research, analysis and visualization of extreme temperature and weather pattern risks, released today the TempRisk US Weeklies, a new product that offers clients a simple-to-understand multi-week weather analysis with comparative charts, weekly highlights, and actionable takeaways.

The TempRisk US Weeklies includes all of the TempRisk United States regions in a side-by-side forecast comparison with the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). It provides data in quick-view maps and charts with weekly highlights and expert analysis. Forecast comparisons are divided by weeks and aligned by target dates. TempRisk hit rates for each region are compared to ECMWF temperature ranges relative to normal based on specific lead windows. Beyond the charts, the TempRisk Weeklies also includes a comprehensive analysis, interpretation and commentary for highly anomalous weather events.

The TempRisk US Weeklies is included in a TempRisk subscription, but it is also available as a stand-alone product. A similar look-and-feel TempRisk Europe Weeklies report is available for TempRisk Europe subscribers.

"Our new TempRisk Weeklies provides our customers with a tool to undercover weather trends, see correlations between different regions, and make smart business decisions based on the analysis," says EarthRisk CEO John Plavan. "It's an ideal service for companies in multiple industries, including our current lineup of natural gas and energy traders and emerging clients in the agriculture market who can utilize our long-range forecasting to make the most efficient and informed business choices."

TempRisk provides the information necessary to extend forecast confidence beyond one week, the point where weather simulations face deteriorating skill. The platform's patent-pending algorithms run four million calculations a day, incorporating 200 weather patterns, 10,000 days and multiple global regions. The result: quantified weather risk.

TempRisk is based on the software-as-a-service (SaaS) subscription model and is available now through www.earthrisktech.com.
