April 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- On
Thursday, April 4, 2013, Chester Community Charter School (CCCS), the largest K-8 charter school in
Pennsylvania, will hold the "Make a Difference Campaign" with Philadelphia Eagles'
LeSean McCoy, and singer, BriaMarie (The Fresh Princess), to proactively promote the upcoming Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) exams and anti-bullying awareness.
Lori Wilson, news anchor, WCAU-TV 10, will serve as the program's host.
Chester Community Charter School students in third-through-eighth grades will hear a motivational speech from the Eagles' All-Pro, star running back and BriaMarie (The Fresh Princess). Both will share the importance of self-expression, valuing an education, remaining focused while taking the PSSA exams, and respecting school peers. A CCCS third-grade class will perform an original song for the rally, following a musical performance from BriaMarie (The Fresh Princess).
David Clark, CEO, CCCS, said, "Oftentimes, students, statewide, show apathy towards standardized tests, not knowing that these exams shape the perception of the education they receive and the effectiveness of their teachers and curriculum." He continued, "At our school, we aim to inspire our students to do well and try their best.
"This event is also a part of our Positive Behavior Support (PBS) program, which fosters positive behavior of students through a variety of anti-bullying initiatives during the school year to promote an uplifting environment. Committed, national personalities, such as
LeSean McCoy and BriaMarie, help solidify our message."
