today announced the start of spring tour season at the Governor's Residence in
and the opening of the latest art exhibition, "Quiet Pennsylvania."
"The governor and I are excited to welcome visitors to the Governor's Residence this spring," Mrs. Corbett said. "It is our hope that the public will enjoy learning about this state treasure and experiencing the featured art exhibition."
The exhibition highlights artwork by internationally acclaimed artist
, a native of Pennsylvania. Nineteen watercolor paintings depicting the natural beauty of
's landscape are on display.
Steadman's paintings have been displayed in private and permanent museum collections throughout the country, including the
New York State
Museum, the Cincinnati Museum of Natural History, the Leigh Yawkey-Woodson Art Museum, and the Smithsonian's Museum of Natural History. His illustrations have also contributed to the National Geographic Field Guide to the Birds of
Steadman currently serves as the director of Center City Arts at Stairways Behavioral Health in Erie.
Public tours are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from
10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
April 2 through June 27, 2013
