Oklahoma Unemployment Rate Falls Slightly In Feb.
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) â¿¿ The unemployment rate in Oklahoma fell slightly in February.
The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission reported Friday that the jobless rate fell from 5.1 percent in January to 5 percent in February. The national unemployment rate fell from 7.9 percent to 7.7 percent during the same period.
The commission reports that the construction industry led job growth in the state by adding 3,200 jobs. Government added 2,300 jobs and the professional and business services sector added 2,200 workers and the trade, transportation and utilities industry sector added 1,800 jobs.
The leisure and hospitality industry had 900 fewer jobs and the health and social services sector dropped 300 jobs.
