What Will Obama's Second Term Mean For U.S.-Cuba Relations?

SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Now that President Obama's second term is underway, how – if at all – will the United States alter its rocky relationship with Cuba?

This and other related questions will be the subject of "Obama 2.0: Cuba. What Changes Will It Bring?" a Symposium to be held Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the Santa Monica Public Library's Martin Luther King Auditorium, in Santa Monica, Calif., from 6:30-9pm. The event is free-of-charge and open to the public. Refreshments and Cuban snacks will be served.

Distinguished speakers include Wayne S. Smith, Cuba Program Director for the Center for International Policy in Washington, D.C.; and author Ann Louise Bardach, "the go-to journalist on all things Cuban and Miami," according to the Columbia Journalism Review.

Other leading participants include Robert L. Muse, an attorney with long experience with U.S.- Cuba issues; Elizabeth Newhouse, also from the CIP; the Darrel Couturier Gallery; and Adolfo V. Nodal and Peter R. Sanchez, co-founders of Cuba Tours and Travel.

"I have spent the past twenty years devoted to reconnecting the Cuban people with Americans," said Sanchez, a Cuban native and the President of Cuba Tours and Travel. "It is an honor to be part of this extraordinary opportunity to share and discuss what I've learned."

Sanchez will be part of the panel discussion titled, "Travel to Cuba: What's Possible, Where It's Going, The Politics."

Seating for the Symposium is limited; RSVP early by sending your name, title and organization (if applicable) to info@cubatoursandtravel.com.
