NEW YORK, March 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Global public relations leader Porter Novelli announced today that Fred Shank has joined the New York office as senior vice president in the consumer practice.

Shank joins Porter Novelli from Edelman, where he spent nearly four years as a vice president, providing strategic and account leadership on the HEINEKEN USA, Starbucks, Kraft and Citi businesses. Prior to Edelman, Fred spent more than four years with Whole Foods Market as its director of public relations and public affairs for the Northeast, North Atlantic and Mid-Atlantic regions.
Earlier in his career Shank spent two years as public information officer with Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund, developing strategy and messaging, as well as conducting media relations, for a range of its litigation and education programming.
