GUANGZHOU, China, March 26, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- China Mobile Games and Entertainment Group Limited ("CMGE" or the "Company") (Nasdaq:CMGE), a leading mobile game company in China, today announced that it will soon release a series of new social card games based on the Company's 'Joyful' franchise for both Android and iOS-based platforms and will launch open beta testing for the Android-based version of 'Long Zhan San Guo' on March 27, 2013.
'Joyful Zha Jin Hua' was the first in a series of card games released by China Mobile Games in January 2013 for Android-based platforms. Providing a fresh gaming experience for fans of traditional card games, the 'Joyful' series of card games introduces exciting new features and game play, including new social functions that allow players to interact with each other. Since its launch, 'Joyful Zha Jin Hua' has received positive user feedback and generated over RMB5 million in monthly revenue. The Company plans on launching both Android and iOS-based follow-up titles in the coming months, including 'Joyful Dou di Zhu,' 'Joyful Mahjong,' 'Joyful Two-Person Mahjong,' and 'Joyful Niu Niu.'
'Long Zhan San Guo' is a new turn-based MMORPG adapted from the legendary stories of China's historical Three Kingdoms period. The game's iOS version was launched in January 2013 and has already reached 1 million registered users with a daily peak revenue of RMB 70,000 and monthly revenue exceeding RMB1.5 million. An Android-based version of the game will begin open beta testing on March 27, 2013.
Both games will be available through the Company's proprietary Android-based Game Center application, which connects users with games developed and/or operated by CMGE.
