, Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at
, has been appointed Director of The John E. and Alice L. Butler Venture Accelerator, an entrepreneurial learning program that supports and advances student businesses in each phase of their startup venture--from opportunity exploration and pursuit with an action plan to the ultimate launch.
Babson's Accelerator serves all students looking to start or advance an entrepreneurial venture by providing an entrepreneurial community and support throughout the stages of developing their company including incubator workspace, peer mentoring programs, mentoring and other valuable resources. Selected student businesses are given access to professional and semiprivate workspace to grow and manage their businesses between classes.
Said Corbett, "I'm so pleased to have this opportunity to work with my colleagues to assist our students and alumni in their entrepreneurial ventures. The accelerator is an integral part of the Babson entrepreneurial ecosystem. Through practical, hands-on workshops, mentoring, workspace and other resources, the accelerator complements classroom experience with practical learning that moves ventures forward."

Corbett was the MBA Director and Associate Professor at the Lally School of Management & Technology at
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
. He has also taught at the
University of Colorado
Prior to working in academia he spent over a decade in marketing and strategic management positions within the media and publishing industry.
