Last week Air Traffic Management (ATM) professionals and stakeholders from 107 countries descended upon
Amsterdam for the 23
rd ATC Global event. Across the three days, ATC Global 2013 proved to be the place for participants to conduct business and address the universal issues affecting the ATM community.

The truly global representation, with participants present from each continent in attendance, allowed for frank discussions around developing new safer, fuel-efficient and cost-effective aircraft operations to take place whilst innovative solutions on tackling global issues were shared.
At the ATC Global 2013 conference, speakers painted very different views of the achievements and challenges facing air navigation services providers around the world. Some of the highlights included

, who gave details of the Indian Ocean Strategic Partnership to Reduce Emissions (INSPIRE) programme where direct city-pair flights have operated with an average fuel saving per flight (per sector) of 212 kg for the last year or so. ), the Cuban ANSP, spoke of plans to acquire new systems to satisfy the implementation of CAR/SAM ANP and
, Strategic Advisor for Aruba Airport Authority, spoke of the work to introduce ASBU Block 0 in the region - implementation of PBN and air traffic services inter-facility data communication (AIDC).
The supplier community was also out in force with more than 150 exhibitors from 28 countries represented including Thales, NITA, WIDE, Northrop Grumman, Intelcan, Azimut, Leosphere, Vaisala,
