Unmatched Selection Of The Alibris Inventory Now Available Through YBP Marketplace

EMERYVILLE, Calif., March 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Alibris, a division of Monsoon Commerce and the premier online marketplace for new and used books, textbooks, music, and movies, announced today a new service available through its partnership with  YBP, a Baker & Taylor company and the leading bookseller to research libraries. This service allows libraries to locate and acquire their own copies of out-of-print and out-of-stock books through  GOBI3, YBP's acquisition and collection development interface.

Through YBP Marketplace, libraries can see, in real time, current stock and condition information for hard-to-find titles from more than 14,000 online independent booksellers. It's a fast and convenient way for libraries to purchase the titles needed for their patrons – all within their existing GOBI 3 workflow. Titles ordered through YBP Marketplace are invoiced by YBP and shipped from Alibris.

"YBP Library Services has become the leader in the industry by delivering innovative and fully integrated solutions for our customers," said Mark Kendall, Senior Vice President of Sales and Operations at YBP. "With the addition of the YBP Marketplace, libraries can acquire titles needed in a timely and efficient manner from a single ordering source. We're very pleased to work with Alibris to offer libraries another tool to streamline ordering."

"Alibris is pleased to deepen our relationship with YBP and is dedicated to providing libraries with greater selection and choice; the integration of our unmatched selection directly into GOBI 3 makes it even more valuable," said Kanth Gopalpur, CEO of Monsoon Commerce. "Our objective is to help our global network of independent sellers thrive by providing access to the broadest possible base of buyers."
