NORWOOD, Mass., March 12, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LTX-Credence Corporation (Nasdaq:LTXC), a global provider of market focused, cost-optimized semiconductor test solutions, today announced that Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (Nasdaq:TXN), has selected the LTX-Credence Diamond x tester as its test solution for Cortex-M microcontrollers in a 65nm process. TI selected the Diamond x based on its proven ability to deliver highly efficient testing of its microcontrollers, thereby substantially lowering test cost without compromising quality. The Diamond x testers will be located at TI engineering and manufacturing sites for MCU 65nm production. Volume shipments to TI are expected to commence later this calendar year.
"Embedded memory test is in many ways more difficult to implement due to the variety and magnitude of testing required," said Kevin Ritchie, senior vice president of TI's Technology and Manufacturing Group. "The quality and throughput we see on the Diamond x will drive significant efficiencies in the testing of our microcontroller products further strengthening TI's ability to support its customers with highly integrated, optimized microcontrollers."
David Tacelli, president and chief executive officer at LTX-Credence, commented, "TI's adoption of the Diamond x for microcontroller testing is an important milestone in the launch of our new product. Our goal to deliver test solutions targeted at lowering our customers' overall cost of test is resonating in the marketplace and TI's adoption of Diamond x is another important validation."About LTX-Credence Corporation LTX-Credence is a global provider of semiconductor test solutions designed to deliver value through innovation enabling customers to implement best-in-class test strategies to maximize their profitability.
