NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Cross Country Healthcare (Nasdaq:CCRN) has been upgraded by TheStreet Ratings from sell to hold. The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its solid stock price performance and largely solid financial position with reasonable debt levels by most measures. However, as a counter to these strengths, we also find weaknesses including deteriorating net income, disappointing return on equity and poor profit margins.

Highlights from the ratings report include:

• CCRN's debt-to-equity ratio is very low at 0.16 and is currently below that of the industry average, implying that there has been very successful management of debt levels. Along with the favorable debt-to-equity ratio, the company maintains an adequate quick ratio of 1.25, which illustrates the ability to avoid short-term cash problems.
• Compared to its closing price of one year ago, CCRN's share price has jumped by 25.38%, exceeding the performance of the broader market during that same time frame. Regarding the stock's future course, our hold rating indicates that we do not recommend additional investment in this stock despite its gains in the past year.
• CCRN, with its decline in revenue, underperformed when compared the industry average of 18.1%. Since the same quarter one year prior, revenues slightly dropped by 1.6%. Weakness in the company's revenue seems to have hurt the bottom line, decreasing earnings per share.
• The gross profit margin for CROSS COUNTRY HEALTHCARE INC is rather low; currently it is at 24.60%. It has decreased from the same quarter the previous year. Along with this, the net profit margin of -13.63% is significantly below that of the industry average.
• Net operating cash flow has decreased to $1.90 million or 41.51% when compared to the same quarter last year. In addition, when comparing to the industry average, the firm's growth rate is much lower.
