"We are thrilled to add Incentive Publications (IP) to our family of educational products," said World Book, Inc. President
. "IP's record of creating excellent supplemental resources for the classroom and promoting effective teaching strategies is directly aligned with our own mission to publish superior reference and instructional products and enlarge our educational publishing product line. IP's wealth of supplemental classroom products will add to World Book's impressive existing collection of standards-aligned materials to support teachers."
For 95 years, World Book has focused on creating accurate and easy-to-read material correlated to the comprehension skills of the age range of the target audience. As an established publisher of best-selling and well-respected reference and instructional books and web-based subscription sites for learners, World Book sought to augment its product line with a wide range of lesson plans and other resources of exceptional quality to support educators' and parents' efforts to enhance students' learning experience. Incentive Publications specializes in educational resources for the middle grades and effective teaching strategies for grades K–12. World Book's acquisition of Incentive Publications will contribute to increasing the body of effective educational products designed to assist teachers in implementing the Common Core State Standards.
The acquisition of Incentive Publications is a step further in World Book's efforts to augment its product line with engaging and instructional products for home and classroom. In 2012, World Book announced a new retail venture called Bright Connections Media. Using bold illustrations, lively text, and quirky characters, each Bright Connections Media book is crafted to be a sunbeam that lights up a young reader's imagination and ignites learning.
