LAS VEGAS, March 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) presented its first-ever air traffic control safety award to Washington, D.C., controller Melvin Davis for bringing aviation industry stakeholders together to ensure safe operations in the National Airspace System.
The award was presented at the annual National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) "Communicating for Safety" conference. Davis is NATCA's chief representative for the Next Generation air transportation modernization effort.

The variant is called STARS ELITE, and it will be used in small and medium airports to usher in NextGen benefits that are not currently available at those facilities.
