Apple Joins Others Behind the Woodshed


Buy and Trade Strategies for today's Woodshed Stocks:

Cablevision Systems (CVC) ($13.76) declined from $15.47 at the close on Feb. 27 to a low of $13.68 on Feb. 28 after missing EPS estimates by 40 cents a share on the impact of super storm Sandy. The stock is rated a hold with a negative weekly chart profile, and its five-week MMA at $14.77. I do not show a value level with a weekly pivot at $14.24 and monthly risky level at $16.70.

Dillards (DDS) ($80.27) missed EPS estimates but held its 200-day SMA at $75.64 on Feb. 25. The stock still has a buy rating with a negative weekly chart profile and the five-week MMA at $83.78. My semiannual value level is $62.99 with a quarterly pivot at $83.66 and weekly risky level at $86.12.

Expeditors International (EXPD) ($38.82) missed EPS estimates by three cents a share on Feb. 26, earning 40 cents a share. The transportation company reported weaker than expected demand for air freight services out of Asia and the stock fell from $39.99 on Feb. 25 to a low of $36.08 on Feb. 26, before returning to its 200-day SMA at $38.35. The stock is rated a hold with a negative weekly chart profile with the five-week MMA at $41.05 and the 200-week SMA at $41.33. My monthly value level is $37.41 with a weekly risky level at $41.78.

First Solar (FSLR) ($25.35) beat EPS estimates by 29 cents a share, earning $2.04 on Feb. 26. The company stated that the market environment remained challenging and the stock declined from $31.36 at the close on Feb. 26, trading to a low of $24.92 on Friday. The stock is rated a buy with a negative weekly chart profile and the five-week MMA at $30.05. The 200-day SMA is $22.91 with a weekly pivot at $26.33 and semiannual risky level at $36.34.

Foster Wheeler (FWLT) ($20.22) the construction company missed EPS estimates by $0.08 on March 1, earning 38 cents a share. A revenue miss and cautious comments on the economic recovery caused the stock to fall from a close of $24.06 on Feb. 28 to a low of $19.35 on March 1, gapping below its 200-day SMA at $21.69. The stock is rated a buy with a negative weekly chart profile and the five-week MMA at $24.18. My quarterly value level is $13.83 with a weekly pivot at $24.04 and semiannual risky level at $26.44.
