NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Western Refining (NYSE:WNR) hit a new 52-week high Friday as it is currently trading at $37.86, above its previous 52-week high of $37.64 with 1.4 million shares traded as of 2:20 p.m. ET. Average volume has been 1.9 million shares over the past 30 days.

Western Refining has a market cap of $3.1 billion and is part of the basic materials sector and energy industry. Shares are up 24.5% year to date as of the close of trading on Thursday.
