AG Mortgage Investment Trust, Inc. (NYSE: MITT) (the “Company”) today announced that Angelo, Gordon & Co., L.P., the parent of the Company’s external manager, has appointed Jason Biegel a Managing Director and that he has joined its Residential and Consumer Debt team. In this role at Angelo, Gordon, he will have primary responsibility for building out a residential whole loan platform that will enable the Company to expand its investments in residential whole loans, mortgage servicing rights and other similar assets.

Prior to joining Angelo, Gordon, Mr. Biegel previously served as Managing Director at Lone Star Funds, where he was the head of the residential whole loan business platform and responsible for its design and implementation. Prior to that, he held senior positions at Bear, Stearns & Co., including Senior Managing Director, Mortgage Trading.
