Sony Corporation designs, develops, manufactures, and sells electronic equipment, instruments, and devices for consumer, professional, and industrial markets worldwide. Sony Corporation has a market cap of $14.21 billion and is part of the consumer goods sector. The company has a P/E ratio of four, below the S&P 500 P/E ratio of 17.7. Shares are up 28% year to date as of the close of trading on Wednesday. Currently there are two analysts that rate Sony Corporation a buy, no analysts rate it a sell, and none rate it a hold.

TheStreet Ratings rates Sony Corporation as a hold. The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its impressive record of earnings per share growth, largely solid financial position with reasonable debt levels by most measures and good cash flow from operations. However, as a counter to these strengths, we also find weaknesses including poor profit margins and a generally disappointing performance in the stock itself.
