Carnegie Learning® Scores High In Rigorous Common Core Textbook Adoption Year

Stocks in this article: APOL

The Common Core State Standards Initiative seeks to bring diverse state curricula requirements into alignment in order to establish a consistent expectation for student performance across all 50 states. Currently, 45 states and the District of Columbia have adopted the Common Core's more rigorous academic standards, graduation requirements, skills assessments, and accountability measurements with the goal to prepare all students for college and/or 21st century careers.

Carnegie Learning Common Core adopted materials includes the Carnegie Learning Middle School Math Series for grades six through eight, Algebra I: A Common Core Program, and Integrated Math I: A Common Core Program. These unique blended textbook and software solutions deliver highly personalized instruction for students of varied skill levels and are written specifically for the Common Core requirements and Standards for Mathematical Practice, which are the foundation of Carnegie Learning pedagogy. The programs also support instructors in the transition to the Common Core with Professional Development that prepares for classroom instruction to deepen student content knowledge, promote problem-solving, and encourage students to reflect on their thinking and consolidate new mathematical ideas.

Carnegie Learning Geometry, Algebra II and Integrated Math I and II programs are currently aligned to individual state standards, and Common Core editions will be available beginning in June 2013. In anticipation of the 2014-2015 release of the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness of College and Careers ( PARCC) and Smarter Balanced assessments aligned to the Common Core, Carnegie Learning is also aligning all instructional materials to reflect the new summative, data-driven and computer adaptive formats for measuring student performance.
