JMP Group Announces Addition Of Thomas Wright As Director Of Equities

JMP Group Inc. (NYSE: JMP), an investment banking and alternative asset management firm, announced today that Thomas R. Wright has joined JMP Securities as a managing director and director of equities. Based in the firm’s New York office, Mr. Wright will oversee JMP Securities’ institutional sales and trading business as well as its equity research effort.

Before joining JMP Securities, Mr. Wright served as global head of trading at Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. for eight years. During the ten prior years, he held a variety of leadership positions at Merrill Lynch & Co., most recently as head of European equity trading and salestrading and previously as head of U.S. equity trading and salestrading. Mr. Wright was also a vice president and Nasdaq salestrader at Goldman Sachs & Co. for eight years. He began his career at Merrill Lynch & Co. on the Nasdaq desk in 1983. Mr. Wright received an M.B.A. from New York University Stern School of Business and a B.S. in economics and finance from Boston College.
