(NASDAQ: MSPD), one of the leaders in small cell technology, today announced the launch of a next-generation, high-performing metrocell reference design, supporting 20MHz LTE FDD and throughputs of up to 150Mbps. The companies have taken their existing relationship one step further by integrating Aricent's world class software stacks and Mindspeed®'s PHY software with the Transcede® T3300 baseband processor, especially designed for high performing small cell solutions.

Aricent continually invests in LTE, in areas such as VoLTE, SON and LTE-A. Aricent software is found in LTE devices commercially deployed by operators in some of the most demanding markets across the world.
Mindspeed's small cell SoC portfolio holds a leadership position in the industry, in both commercial and technological terms. Mindspeed has 34 LTE small cell design engagements and is one of the first small cell SoC companies to have LTE systems commercially deployed. Recently, Mindspeed announced that it has 63% share of the 3GPP small cell market according to Infonetics Research.
