LTO 6 features Write Once, Read Many (WORM) functionality and advanced encryption capabilities, making it extremely well suited for backup and archival applications requiring high security, such as legal and medical records, and financial data that must comply with the
Act. It also incorporates a Linear Tape File System (LTFS), which allows LTO 6 to be used in a manner similar to that of hard disk drives (HDDs). Because LTO 6 is a tape technology, it has inherent advantages compared to HDD, including dramatically lowering energy consumption and reducing storage media costs.
NeoSMART Maximizes LTO 6 Technology
The incorporation of Maxell's patented NeoSMART (Super Maximum-capacity Advanced Reliability Tape) technology maximizes the benefits of LTO 6.
