NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Cliffs Natural Resources (NYSE:CLF) hit a new 52-week low Wednesday as it is currently trading at $27.99, below its previous 52-week low of $28.05 with 3.2 million shares traded as of 10:41 a.m. ET. Average volume has been 8.4 million shares over the past 30 days.

Cliffs Natural has a market cap of $4.11 billion and is part of the basic materials sector and metals & mining industry. Shares are down 25.2% year to date as of the close of trading on Tuesday.

Cliffs Natural Resources Inc., a mining and natural resources company, engages in the production of iron ore pellets, fines and lump ore, and metallurgical coal.
