Wells Fargo Insurance Introduces National Health & Productivity Practice; Dr. Ronald Leopold Named Practice Head
As healthcare reform continues to take center stage for many U.S. employers, Wells Fargo Insurance, part of Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC), announced today a new Health & Productivity National Practice. Part of the company’s National Employee Benefits Practice, the Health & Productivity group will provide customers access to health and wellness solutions that are aligned with healthcare reform and changing workforce demographics. The company also announced that 28-year industry veteran Ronald Leopold, M.D., MBA., M.P.H. has been named head of this new practice. Based in Atlanta, Dr. Leopold reports to Todd Renner, head of Wells Fargo’s Employee Benefits National Practice.
“As we continue to understand the impact of healthcare reform, this new practice will provide our employee benefits customers with access to health plans that promote better lifestyle choices, increase productivity and therefore, lower their company’s healthcare costs,” said Renner. “I’m confident that with Ron’s extensive experience and leadership, our new practice will enable our customers to create more effective and competitive health plans.”
Most recently, Dr. Leopold served as vice president and national medical director at MetLife. Board certified by the American College of Preventive Medicine in Occupational Medicine, he has ten years of experience in active clinical practice. Dr. Leopold is also the author of The Benefits Edge: Honing the Competitive Value of Employee Benefits and A Year in the Life of a Million American Workers. He received his MBA from the Wharton School of Business, a Masters in Public Health from Boston University, and his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University.
“I’m excited to be part of a company with a vision to help customers succeed financially,” said Dr. Leopold. “Providing smart, targeted solutions that promote good health and workforce productivity is an integral part of helping customers achieve financial success.”
