The purpose of the workshop is to unite a broad range of stakeholders in the area of membranes for water purification including representatives from government, academia, and industry. This collaboration should foster constructive dialogue and global information sharing between leading research scientists and engineers to stimulate collaborative research on critical water purification challenges.
Carl Willis and Dr.
Shawn Wei of Kraton Polymers will present a paper entitled, "
Selectively Mid-block Sulfonated Pentablock Copolymer Membranes," on
February 25, 2013 at
2:15 p.m. They will outline the relationship between the
NEXAR™ Polymers' structure in solvent, and performance of the cast NEXAR polymer membrane in various water treatment applications. NEXAR Polymers, manufactured by Kraton Performance Polymers, help designers develop water management systems that effectively remove impurities, toxins, metals, and other contaminants from many natural water resources, in addition to effluent water from industrial manufacturing plants to make them suitable for use or reuse.

About Kraton PolymersKraton Performance Polymers, Inc., through its operating subsidiary Kraton Polymers LLC and its subsidiaries, is a leading global producer of engineered polymers and styrenic block copolymers ("SBCs"), a family of products whose chemistry was pioneered by us almost fifty years ago. SBCs are highly-engineered thermoplastic elastomers, which enhance the performance of numerous products by delivering a variety of attributes, including greater flexibility, resilience, strength, durability and processability. Our polymers are used in a wide range of applications, including adhesives, coatings, consumer and personal care products, sealants and lubricants, and medical, packaging, automotive, paving, roofing and footwear products. We currently offer a diverse range of products to more than 800 customers in over 60 countries worldwide, and are the only SBC producer with manufacturing and service capabilities on four continents. We manufacture products at five plants globally, including our flagship plant in
