Johnson Outdoors Inc. Annual Shareholder Meeting

RACINE, Wis., Feb. 14, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Johnson Outdoors Inc. (Nasdaq:JOUT) will hold its annual shareholder meeting on Thursday, February 28, 2013 beginning at 10:00 a.m. Central Time at the Company's global headquarters, located at 555 Main Street in Racine, Wisconsin. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m.

At the meeting, shareholders will 1) elect directors for the coming year, 2) ratify the appointment of independent auditors, 3) advise on executive compensation and 4) act on a proposed Non-Employee Director Stock Ownership Plan.  The Board of Directors recommends shareholders vote FOR all proposals before the meeting.  Items two and three are non-binding votes.

All shareholders of record as of January 3, 2013 and valid proxy holders are invited to attend and eligible to vote upon these matters.  Information pertinent to the items to be voted on can be found in the Company's Annual Meeting Proxy Statement mailed to shareholders on or about January 23, 2013 and filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on January 23, 2013.  The Company's Annual Report and Annual Meeting Proxy Statement are also available on the Company's website at www.johnsonoutdoors.com under Investors.

After completion of voting, management will then discuss the Company's marketplace and financial performance pursuant to its C5 2010 – 2012 strategic plan, a period during which the Company increased revenue by 5 percent annually and grew profits faster than sales.  Fiscal 2012 marked the eighth year in a row with new products generating a third or more of total Company sales.  Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Helen Johnson-Leipold will also provide details of the Company's new Value Plus 2015 Strategic Plan to deliver sustained profitable growth.
