H.I.M. ON CALL Hires Karen Karban, RHIT, CCS, Increasing Education And HIM Consulting Services To Clients

ALLENTOWN, Pa., Feb. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --   H.I.M. ON CALL, a technology and outsourced services company for health information management (HIM), coding and revenue cycle, announces the addition of Karen Karban, RHIT, CCS, as Director of Coding Integrity.  The consulting firm specializes in onsite and offsite coding, ICD10 training programs and revenue analytics for hospitals. In her new role, Karban will lead all company coding initiatives and help support H.I.M. ON CALL customers as they transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10.  The announcement was made by Manny Pena, RHIA, President.

Ms. Karban's experience includes quality assurance, state survey corrective action plans, coding compliance plans, and operational workflow redesign of coding departments. She spearheaded the Ambulatory Coding Lunch and Learn™ program while VP of Product Development for HP3 and was a founding contributor to JustCoding.com™.   

With almost 40 years of HIM industry experience, Ms. Karban is an active member of AHIMA, contributor to The Journal, speaker at past AHIMA Convention and is a past program chair of CHIMA and AZHIMA. She holds multiple certifications through AHIMA including RHIT, CCS and Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer.
