Health Net Providing $256,000 Grant To Help Improve The Patient Experience In L.A. County

Health Net of California, Inc., a subsidiary of Health Net, Inc. (NYSE: HNT), is providing a $256,000 grant to Serra Community Medical Clinic that will provide funding for a wheelchair-accessible van to help its patients get to and from their physician appointments, as well as for building improvements to help improve access to medical care and the patient experience.

“Providing this grant is part of our commitment to helping improve not only patients’ access to care, but their experience and satisfaction when they receive their care,” said Patricia Clarey, senior vice president, chief regulatory and external relations officer, and chief compliance officer for Health Net, Inc.

“To say we’re delighted is an understatement,” said Ziad Kalioundji, chief operating officer for Serra Community Medical Clinic. “This grant helps improve the level of clinical care, and our community triumphs as a result of the cooperation between our two organizations.”

Besides the van for transporting patients to and from the Serra Community Medical Clinic in Sun Valley (Los Angeles County), Kalioundji said the grant will be used to install automatic sliding entry doors and expand and renovate examination rooms to help improve clinical care.
