Feb. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- GDF SUEZ Energy Resources NA, one of the largest competitive market retail electricity providers to commercial, industrial and institutional customers in the country, announced today that it will provide electricity to the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
As one of the most visited venues in
the United States, the Houston Museum of Natural Science houses the Burke Baker Planetarium, Wortham Giant Screen Theatre, Cockrell Butterfly Center and a range of permanent and traveling exhibit areas. It also maintains two satellite facilities—the George Observatory and the Houston Museum of Natural Science at
Sugar Land, for which GDF SUEZ Energy Resources will also supply the power.
Joel Bartsch, President of the Houston Museum of Natural Science, said competitive pricing and customer service were two key factors in the museum's selection of GDF SUEZ Energy Resources as its electricity supplier.
"We are delighted to be working with GDF SUEZ Energy Resources," explained Bartsch. "These professionals understand what drives our business, and they have built an energy management strategy that fits our unique operating requirements. That level of service is hard to come by, and we look forward to a promising partnership."
Sam Henry, President and CEO of GDF SUEZ Energy Resources, said, "Nonprofit customers like the Houston Museum of Natural Science need an electricity supplier they can count on to provide superior customer service and competitive, fixed-price products that deliver budget certainty. We're honored to serve one of
Houston's landmark venues."
The electricity supply agreement is the result of a review of competitive proposals conducted by the museum's energy consultant, Energy Edge Consulting. Energy Edge evaluated several key areas, including pricing, contract terms, customer service, and other strategic value drivers in determining that GDF SUEZ Energy Resources offered the best overall value proposition.
