The Western Union money-transfer and bill payment service is now available at select Carrefour locations with rollout plans to be implemented across 120 strategic Carrefour locations.
“We are very pleased with this alliance with Western Union, which enables Carrefour to further expand the convenience we offer to our customers each and every day,” said Daniel Fernández, President of Carrefour Argentina. “Our customers are at the heart of everything that we do. Providing them with multiple payment options to solve their incoming and outgoing payments’ needs, while they are in our store, will definitively make their days easier.”

The Group combines different store formats – hypermarkets, supermarkets, convenience stores and cash and carry outlets – constantly adapting to its customers’ consumption patterns, and offering a large range of products and services. In Argentina, where it was launched in 1982, it is now one of the country's most recognized consumer brands.“We’re combining our traditional strengths – a globally recognized brand and retail presence in 200 countries and territories – with web, stored value cards and accounts, mobile services and cross-border platforms for global businesses, to meet the needs of today’s customers, who require more options across different technologies,” said Odilon Almeida, president, Americas, Western Union.
