Benjamin Moore Teams With Make It Right To Make A Difference During This Year's Biggest Game

NEW ORLEANS, Feb. 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Benjamin Moore, one of the world's best-known paint brands, is once again joining forces with Make It Right in the continuing effort to rebuild the Lower Ninth Ward in New Orleans. The two organizations are bringing volunteers from around the country together for a day of service during this year's Super Bowl festivities in the Crescent City.

Benjamin Moore, and a multi-city team of skilled painting contractors, will be painting one of the latest homes built by Make It Right. With many of these professionals coming from Baltimore to join a local volunteer crew—including several celebrities who support Make It Right—this round of pre-Bowl action is scheduled for Saturday, February 2, beginning at 11 a.m.

"Benjamin Moore has been proud to work with and support Make It Right since its founding," said Benjamin Moore spokesperson Nick Harris of the company's association with the non-profit established by Brad Pitt to provide new, affordable and environmentally sustainable housing for flood victims of Hurricane Katrina. "Since the Moore brothers started this company 130 years ago in Brooklyn, we've been active members of every community in which our products are sold and in which our independent dealers do business."

According to Tom Darden, executive director of Make It Right, "Benjamin Moore has been a valued partner over the past five years, generously supporting our funding, supplying to date more than 10,000 gallons of paint products and even curating recommended color palettes that complement our architecture community. We fully appreciate all of the company's efforts, and are grateful that they've stepped up to sponsor this Super Bowl day of service, as well."

About Benjamin Moore

Benjamin Moore & Co., a Berkshire Hathaway company, was founded in 1883. One of the country's leading manufacturers of premium quality residential, commercial and industrial maintenance coatings, its products are distributed via a network of independent paint and decorating retailers throughout North America. Benjamin Moore has been a longstanding steward of the environment with a relentless commitment to sustainable manufacturing practices plus the ongoing development of the most eco-responsible formulations possible. In 2012, Natura, the company's zero-VOC paint, received the Green Good Housekeeping Seal, acknowledging its high degree of sustainability plus rigorously tested performance. Other superior products in Benjamin Moore's Green Promise® portfolio are Aura, uber-performance low-VOC paint, ben, and EcoSpec zero-VOC paint for commercial interiors.  J.D. Power and Associates 2012 Interior paint Satisfaction Study ranked Benjamin Moore highest in consumer satisfaction; it's the second consecutive year the company received this rating. What's more, the Benjamin Moore color offering of more than 3,500 hues is unrivaled, but any custom color choice can be matched, as was done for the White House Oval Office ceiling and trims. The only assurance of getting an authentic Benjamin Moore color is using Benjamin Moore paint, since the colorants and resins are proprietary and uniquely zero-VOC formulated with the company's own patented waterborne technologies. And, authentic Benjamin Moore colors are available exclusively from Benjamin Moore dealers.
